Pallet inverters "from
top to bottom"
Premier
Pallet Systems Ltd. are the world's leading specialist in pallet transfer
technology. Their range includes eight styles of inverter to cover different
customers' requirements, with a choice of manual or semi automatic controls,
or fully automatic in-line systems built to order.
Pallet
inverters are used within manufacturing and distribution industries for
three main reasons.
- Changing pallet
type - i.e. from wood to plastic, from pallet to slipsheet or from supplier's
pallet to Chep
- Removing damaged
goods from the bottom of a load
- Replacing broken
pallets for safety reasons - especially where high bay racking is involved
"CHANGING
A PALLET TAKES 3 MINUTES USING A PALLET INVERTER
DOING
THE SAME JOB BY HAND TYPICALLY TAKES 20 TO 30 MINUTES"

Other
applications for inverters:
-
Turning
stacks of paper at printing presses
- Paint tins
inverted after manufacture to create a seal around the lid
-
Inverting
MDF board and similar laminated products during the manufacturing
process
-
Concrete sections inverted to remove steel moulds
-
Even
bananas turned after ripening for better presentation in the
supermarket.

Thousands of users
world-wide
The biggest users
of inverters are food and pharmaceutical companies who need to switch
incoming goods from wooden to plastic pallets for use in production
areas. This often applies to factories who manufacture products with a
range of ingredients i.e. cakes, biscuits, snack foods, health foods, ready
meals etc. Often the packaging material has to be transferred as well
as the ingredients. Those same companies might also use an inverter for
outgoing goods, to transfer them onto low cost pallets for transport.
Any company that runs
a cold-store or high-bay warehouse will know of the dangers of racking
an unstable or broken pallet. Inverters are therefore used to ensure sub-standard
pallets don't enter the system, where they can cause delays or serious
accidents.
"DEALING
WITH SPLIT BAGS AND BROKEN BOXES IS NO LONGER A PROBLEM"
Almost
every inverter ever sold has at some time been used to give quick access
to the bottom of the stack; many of them for only that purpose. Better
presentation to customers and good housekeeping are two good reasons to
have a pallet transfer device available when damaged packaging causes
products to spill.
Pharmaceutical products
in particular are often palletised onto plastic or other high quality
skids in the factory, then changed to cheaper pallets or slipsheets for
distribution. A producer ay not know the destination of the goods at time
of production, but by using an inverter, has the flexibility to transfer
them to the most suitable type of pallet for the customer concerned.
