Markem-Imaje SmartLase®
A compact laser coder giving a permanent code with no need for liquid ink. Forget about solvents, inks, reservoirs or cartridges, the Markem-Imaje SmartLase will revolutionise the way you look at marking your products. And with no coding consumables, your running costs are dramatically reduced. The laser perfectly removes a thin layer of the printed ink from your packaging, leaving a clean, high quality code.

Since there are no pumps, no solenoids and no nozzles, maintenance is kept to a minimum, and with less to go wrong, the system's reliability is assured. Printing up to 400 characters per second on up to 4 lines of text & graphics, the SmartLase requires nothing more than a 220V single phase power supply. No need even for compressed air.

SmartDate thermal transfer coders print high resolution graphics, real time data and crisp, scannable bar codes on a wide range of films, laminates, labels and cartons. They can be used in either intermittent or continuous motion applications, and Markem-Imaje offer the world's fastest thermal transfer coder suitable for high speed packing lines.

Thermal transfer ribbons are available in a wide range of colours, and can be changed quickly and cleanly, to facilitate printing on a variety of surfaces and product varieties. Markem-Imaje's digital print technology provides the flexibility to print numerous fonts & graphics. Interlaced ribbon save mode can cut printing costs in half, whilst the elimination of hand set type increases up-time and ensures coding is error free.

Markem-Imaje's unique Touch Dry hot melt wax technology means the 5000 series of case coders can reproduce logos and bar codes of any kind. The hot melt resin is solid until it is placed in the Markem-Imaje printer, so there is no need to handle any liquids, and the ink hardens on contact with the carton surface, so the print edges remain "sharp" and well defined.

The bar codes printed are 100% scannable. Each print head is connected to the main control unit by a quick disconnect 4 metre umbilical. Each head is coding with 256 jets over a total height of up to 71mm. The message, up to 600mm long, can contain multiple time and date formats, plus graphics, bar-codes and imported fonts.

The 6064 and 6096S small character coders utilise Markem-Imaje's Touch Dry wax ink blocks so there are no solvent or liquid ink containers to deal with. High definition graphics and bar codes can be printed, in addition to real time date coding. Pack speeds as high at 600ppm can be met with ease.

The print head is fitted using a quick disconnect umbilical of either 2 or 4 metres length. Print heights up to 12.7mm (6064) or 25.4mm (6096S). The 6096S is protected to IP65 as standard.

The Markem-Imaje Cimjet range of print and apply labelers features numerous styles of applicators so suit all your labeling requirements. From simple peel plates to tamp and blow systems for delicate products, Markem-Imaje has the solution. Print head widths up to 150mm and with up to 300dpi resolution. Markem-Imaje offer top and bottom and side applicators, including low level for tray labeling.

Up to 1Mb of memory on board means no seperate PC is required for operation, serial shipping container codes, sequential numbers and times, dates and shifts can all change automatically. Engineered for reliability, the entire Markem-Imaje Cimjet range is built to deliver a mean time between failures in excess of 12,000 hours.
