Directors:

Gulf Technology Systems, as our company was originally known, was founded in 1994 by Managing Director Ian Barker. Ian has over 28 years experience working in the Middle East, first in Saudi Arabia then in the U.A.E., specifying first warehouse storage systems then packaging and printing equipment.

Ian was joined in 1999 by Tim Ansell, the two of them having previously worked together during the period 1992 - 1994. Tim's own experience includes over 18 years in the Gulf, plus 18 months in the U.S.A. and a similar period in Australia establishing sales distribution networks for coding equipment manufacturers.

Sales Team:

Ravi Shetty was promoted to Sales Manager after succesfully managing our shrink film business for several years. He travels extensively throughout the Gulf region and is developing new business in all our market areas within each Gulf state. Ravi speaks fluent Arabic.

Mohammed Sarwar worked in the Sultanate of Oman for seven years as a service engineer on packaging machines. He became our Service Supervisor in 2006 and in 2010 we persuaded him to move across to sales. Having excellent technical and communication skills, Mohamed, who speaks fluent Arabic, takes great care of our customers in the Northern Emirates.

Mahesh Naik is responsible for sales in the Jebel Ali Industrial area and Abu Dhabi. He brings with him a wealth of experience throughout the Gulf region.

Shilpa is our Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) system specialist and has many years experience in customer account management. Shilpa holds a degree in Chemistry and she is also responsible for administering the import of inks and other consumables.

Gavin Martin joined us from the Gulf's leading label printing company and has traveled widely throughout the Gulf, so he knows the packaging industry very well. Gavin is responsible for sales into Dubai's industrial sector (other than Jebel Ali)

P.K. Upraity was recruited specifically to run our Oman office due to his three year's experience in the country. His experience managing a similar business then in the past made him the ideal candidate.

Service Team:

Thomas Thomas was based in Jebel Ali for several years maintaining packaging lines for a tea packing company. He has experience installing such equipment throughout S.E. Asia on behalf of manufacturers.

Prakash D'Souza came to us from a snack food packing company in Dubai so was already familiar with maintenance of metal detectors, coding and marking equipment and v.f.f.s. machines.

Marik Kumar previously worked with Mohamed Sarwar in Oman so he too has extensive experience of packaging machinery and the Omani market. Marik has also become our in house Annual Maintenance Contract expert and as such takes great care of our customers with A.M.C.s

Cesar Marquez joined us from a major snack food manufacturer, where he had installed and maintained their entire plant. He is an electrical and electronics engineer with extensive PLC programming experience. Cesar was our first engineer to be trained on X Ray systems

Fred Santiago is our ever smiling service engineer based in our new Muscat office, in the Sultanate of Oman. An electrical and electronics engineer with extensive PLC programming experience, our Omani customers can rely on Fred to keep their machines running.

Alejandro Mislos is an electrical engineer with PLC programming experience. Formerly with a Saudi packaging machinery distributor, he is trained on Markem-Imaje products plus a range of others including shrink wrap and v.f.f.s. machines.

A.J. is an electrical / electronics engineer and experienced service engineer. A.J. worked with Alejandro in Saudi Arabia and so is also fully conversant with Markem-Imaje products, metal detectors etc.

Accounts & Administration:

Abdul Sathar deals with the day to day administration of imports and exports, as well as the majority of stock control and accounting functions. He also manages our official documentation requirements such as visas and trade licenses etc.

Dylan Kenneth handles all incoming service calls and co-ordinates the service team's activities. In addition he takes care of spare parts stock control and orders placed on our overseas suppliers.

Logistics & Warehouse:

Shamshad is known to every one of our local customers as he has the crucial role of delivering machines, consumables and spare parts throughout the U.A.E. He also keeps our warehouse orderly and clean, and manages the packing of many of our goods for export shipments.
